Overview
As a fast-growing professional services company, NIRA is a trusted advisor to federal agencies in their digital transformation-modernizing critical information dissemination infrastructure—and a pioneer in emerging technologies, including AI, Zero Trust, and supply chain resiliency. We are seeking a self-motivated, customer-oriented Director of Softwar e to join our senior management team. As the Director of Software, you will work closely with executive IT leadership in federal agencies (e.g. CIO, CTO, Chief Architect) to support their digital transformations, while leading the effort to build core competencies in software engineering and emerging technologies.

- Technology Thought Leadership: Collaborate with federal agency IT executives to turn business challenges into strategic visions and practical technical solutions.
- Delivery Management: Lead delivery organizations and project teams, ensuring optimal resource alignment while promoting best practices.
- Core Competency Development: Develop a cross-team software development practice, cultivating core capabilities to support business growth.
- Internal R&D and Partnerships: Lead internal R&D efforts while fostering partnerships with technology vendors.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, occasionally serving as capture manager, proposal lead, or solution architect.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 15+ years of progressive IT experience.
- Strong communication skills to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to lead development teams in delivering high-quality software products and services.
- Subject matter expertise in emerging technologies like machine learning/AI or blockchain, as well as leading cloud computing infrastructures like AWS and Azure.
- Familiarity with development practices like continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD).
- US Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain security clearance.
