Senior Director, AI Business Partner

Axial Search is working with a global biopharma organization to build out its AI transformation team, hiring several Senior Director level AI Business Partners across key regions. The company has organically evolved its AI and advanced analytics capabilities over a number of years and is now focused on moving beyond pilot work toward scaled, enterprise-wide deployment.

This is a senior, business-facing role for leaders who can bridge commercial execution, technology, and change management. The role sits close to commercial leadership and owns the translation of business priorities into delivered, scalable AI-enabled solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with senior commercial leaders to identify, prioritize, and shape AI and advanced analytics use cases.
• Own end-to-end delivery from initial scoping through scaled deployment and adoption.
• Act as the primary interface between commercial teams and central data science, engineering, and platform groups.
• Triage demand and apply judgment on where AI creates real business value.
• Drive change management and adoption across sales, marketing, and commercial operations.
• Represent AI initiatives within local and regional leadership forums.

Candidate requirements

• Strong understanding of how commercial biopharma organizations operate.
• Experience delivering AI, advanced analytics, or digital transformation initiatives in a business context.
• Technical fluency sufficient to engage credibly with data science and engineering teams without being hands-on.
• Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and operate effectively without direct authority.
• Comfortable owning outcomes, prioritizing rigorously, and pushing back when initiatives do not align with strategic goals.
• Backgrounds may include biopharma, life sciences, healthcare consulting, or other regulated industries.
