Overview

DFEAL is seeking a highly skilled Lead Health Data Analyst to join our Health IT & Data Analytics division. In this mission-critical role, you will be responsible for spearheading data-driven initiatives that support federal health agencies in improving public health outcomes.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts and data scientists, working at the intersection of healthcare, policy, and technology. Your work will directly impact how large-scale government health data is processed, interpreted, and used for strategic decision-making.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of complex data analysis projects for federal health clients.
  • Oversee the development of predictive models and advanced analytics dashboards using Python, R, and SQL.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
  • Communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, including senior government officials.
  • Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on data architecture and analytical methodology.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into broader Health IT infrastructures.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in health data analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Deep expertise in SQL and Python/R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
  • Strong understanding of federal health datasets (CMS, CDC, or VA data).
  • Proven experience with healthcare data standards and security regulations (HIPAA).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead high-stakes client presentations.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal contract position.
