Overview
DFEAL is seeking a highly skilled Lead Health Data Analyst to join our Health IT & Data Analytics division. In this mission-critical role, you will be responsible for spearheading data-driven initiatives that support federal health agencies in improving public health outcomes.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team of analysts and data scientists, working at the intersection of healthcare, policy, and technology. Your work will directly impact how large-scale government health data is processed, interpreted, and used for strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities- Lead the design and execution of complex data analysis projects for federal health clients.
- Oversee the development of predictive models and advanced analytics dashboards using Python, R, and SQL.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with healthcare interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7).
- Communicate technical findings to non-technical stakeholders, including senior government officials.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance on data architecture and analytical methodology.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data solutions into broader Health IT infrastructures.
- Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in health data analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership capacity.
- Deep expertise in SQL and Python/R for data manipulation and statistical analysis.
- Strong understanding of federal health datasets (CMS, CDC, or VA data).
- Proven experience with healthcare data standards and security regulations (HIPAA).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead high-stakes client presentations.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this federal contract position.
