Location: Washington, DC (FTC & GAO Headquarters – Government Site)

Clearance Required: Public Trust

Positions: 2

Work Schedule: Onsite | 40 hours/week

Contract Duration: Initially 3–6 months, with potential extension

Start Date Target: March 23, 2026

Role Summary

We are seeking two Network Infrastructure Technicians to support a large-scale office and data center network relocation (GAO move) in Washington, DC. In this role, technicians will work under the direction of network engineers to safely move, install, rack, and cable network equipment while ensuring LAN connectivity is restored correctly.

This position requires hands-on experience with physical networking
, careful handling of production equipment, and the ability to support live environments during cutover activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with moving, staging, and handling network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and racks
  • Rack, mount, and secure network hardware properly
  • Install, remove, and manage network cabling (copper and fiber)
  • Perform cable management and accurate labeling
  • Assist with Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 validation (link status, port connectivity, VLANs)
  • Support network cutover activities under the guidance of network engineers
  • Maintain clean, organized, and well-documented network closets and racks
  • Follow established change management, safety, and migration procedures
  • Complete assigned daily tasks in alignment with best practices and operational workflows
Required Technical Skills
  • Experience installing, racking, and mounting network equipment
  • Strong knowledge of Ethernet cabling and patch panels
  • Understanding of LAN Layer 1 and Layer 2 concepts, including ports, VLANs, and link status
  • Experience working in network closets or data center environments
  • Ability to handle network equipment carefully and professionally
  • Comfortable lifting and moving network gear within established safety limits
Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Prior experience supporting data center or office network migrations
  • Familiarity with Cisco and/or Aruba network hardware
  • Experience with fiber cabling
  • Experience supporting live production network environments
Qualifications & Experience
  • Active or eligible Public Trust clearance required
  • Hands-on experience performing physical network infrastructure tasks in production environments
  • Ability to work onsite at a government facility with no telework option
