As a Prime Government Contractor for a major government institution, we are currently searching for a talented Mid-Level Asset Manager with Secret Clearance to work in Washington DC.
Position Overview- The Mid-Level Asset Manager is responsible for managing the full lifecycle of organizational IT and enterprise assets in support of mission operations. This position ensures accountability, traceability, compliance, and optimization of hardware, software, and related configuration items across enterprise environments. The Asset Manager supports property accountability, CMDB integrity, lifecycle planning, audit readiness, and compliance with Federal, DoD, and agency-specific asset management policies.
- This role operates within an ITIL-based IT Service Management (ITSM) framework and supports continuous improvement, cost efficiency, and audit compliance objectives.
- Manage cradle-to-grave lifecycle of IT assets (procurement through disposal).
- Maintain accurate asset inventory records in ITSM/CMDB platforms.
- Track hardware (servers, endpoints, network devices), software licenses, virtual assets, and cloud subscriptions.
- Coordinate receiving, tagging, imaging, deployment, transfer, and disposal processes.
- Ensure compliance with:
- FAR 52.245 (Government Property)
- DoD Financial Management Regulations (FMR)
- Agency property management policies
- Support internal and external audits (DCAA, DCMA, IG, or agency inspections).
- Conduct periodic physical inventories and reconcile discrepancies.
- Maintain documentation to support audit readiness and financial accountability.
- Maintain alignment between asset records and Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
- Coordinate with Configuration Management and Systems Administration teams to ensure configuration items are properly recorded and baselined.
- Support hardware/software refresh cycles and technology insertion planning.
- Track and manage software licenses and subscriptions.
- Ensure license compliance and optimize license utilization to reduce cost exposure.
- Support vendor true‑ups and enterprise agreement renewals.
- Develop and maintain asset management dashboards and reports.
- Provide monthly asset accountability reports to Program Management and Government COR.
- Identify trends, risks, and cost‑saving opportunities.
- Support QASP performance metrics related to inventory accuracy and audit compliance.
- Ensure assets comply with cybersecurity baselines (e.g., NIST 800-53 controls).
- Coordinate with Information System Security Officers (ISSO) to ensure asset tracking aligns with ATO documentation.
- Track asset sanitization and secure disposal per DoD 5220.22-M or agency equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Logistics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 4 years of experience in IT asset management, property management, or configuration management.
- Experience working in a Federal or DoD environment preferred.
- Familiarity with ITIL-based service management practices.
- Experience with ITSM tools such as Service Now, Remedy, or equivalent.
- Knowledge of FAR 52.245 Government Property requirements.
- Strong understanding of CMDB principles and configuration control processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced reporting), SharePoint, and asset tracking systems.
- ITIL v4 Foundation OR Certified Software Asset Manager (CSAM) OR Certified IT Asset Manager (CITAM)
- CompTIA Security+
