Short Description: Mainframe Storage Administrator with 8+ years of experience managing and maintaining storage systems for IBM System Z. Responsible for storage allocation, performance tuning, backup and recovery, and managing disaster recovery fail-over protocols.

Complete Description:

Responsibilities:

• Lead the adoption or implementation of advanced technology or platforms.
• Serve as an expert on the functionality or usage of specific systems, platforms, or technology products.
• Act as a consultant to clients, guiding efficient use or adoption of IT products or platforms.
• Create implementation, testing, and integration plans.
• Demonstrate expertise in IT platforms or services to optimize IT investments.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of IBM z/OS system software, IBM utilities, and third-party software.
• Work with IBM, Dell/EMC, and Hitachi disks.
• Manage local and remote replication, initialization, and full volume backup/archive/restore processes.
• Operate with tape silos (automatic tape libraries).
• Utilize IBM and CA virtual tape storage solutions.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Training or certification in relevant IT products or platforms, as required.

Skills & Experience:

• 16+ years leading advanced technology or service projects.
• 16+ years in full system engineering lifecycle.
• 16+ years creating implementation, test, and training plans.
• 16+ years hands-on experience with specific products or IT platforms.
• Industry certification or training in specific IT products/platforms is preferred.

Compensation: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour
