Product Manager; Subscriptions

Position: Product Manager (Subscriptions)
Job Description:
1. Own the Subscription Funnel

• Define and optimize the user journey from acquisition to retention and churn prevention.
• Design and execute A/B tests to improve conversion and engagement metrics.
• Collaborate with marketing and analytics teams to refine messaging and paywall strategies.

2. Define and Execute a Cohesive Experience

• Lead the design of a unified subscription experience across its mobile app.
• Partner with UX/UI designers to ensure seamless integration of login, payment, and content access.
• Prioritize subscriber benefits and ensure consistent delivery across platforms.

3. Coordinate Across Stakeholders

• Serve as the central point of contact for engineering, newsroom, marketing, and external vendors.
• Translate complex workflows into actionable tasks for design and development teams.
• Oversee integrations with third-party platforms such as Stripe, Login Radius, and Wordpress.
• Manage timelines, dependencies, and risks to ensure successful and timely launches.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 4+ years of product management experience, preferably in digital media or subscription-based services.
• Proven track record of launching and scaling digital products across web and mobile.
• Strong understanding of user acquisition, retention strategies, and paywall technologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with tools like Word Press, Stripe, and user authentication platforms is a plus

This is a Contract position based out of Washington, DC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
