The Quality Assurance/ Test Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting software testing activities to ensure the quality, reliability, and readiness of mission-critical government systems. This role supports the full testing lifecycle, including test planning, test case development, execution, defect tracking, and validation of software releases. The QA/Test Engineer works closely with developers, product managers, and program teams to ensure delivered capabilities meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements.
This position is contingent upon contract award.
Job Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute quality assurance and test plans in support of software development and release activities.
- Create, maintain, and execute test cases and test scripts, including functional, integration, regression, and system tests.
- Identify, document, and track software defects, coordinating with development teams to support resolution and re-testing.
- Support release readiness assessments, ensuring testing criteria are met prior to deployment.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing testing input during sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support test automation efforts using tools such as Selenium, JMeter, or similar frameworks.
- Develop and maintain test documentation, metrics, and reports to support program oversight and audits.
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Required Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience testing web-based applications or software systems.
- Demonstrated expertise in test case development, regression testing, and test execution.
- Experience with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, JMeter) and defect tracking systems.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
- Preferred Experience:
- ISTQB, Agile Tester, or equivalent quality assurance certification.
