Overview
The Senior Storage Engineer is responsible for managing storage support to protect U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) Office of Information Technology (OIT) data across all hosts in all data centers, field sites, and the cloud.
Responsibilities- Provide management with an Enterprise Data Storage Plan and Policy for Resource Servers that include automation, provisioning, disaster recovery, and backup and recovery solutions
- Provide Capacity and Utilization Report (Application Web and Client Servers, VM, etc.) as requested by the Program Management Office or Task Manager
- Oversee hardware maintenance of storage infrastructure, including but not limited to, Net App storage arrays
- Support capacity planning of storage infrastructure to meet future needs
- Provide recommendations to help increase the overall data protection
- Create and utilize dashboards to routinely monitor storage and proactively manage all storage
- Monitor server and storage utilization, capacity, and availability
- Perform a variety of engineering and operational-related assignments associated with Storage operations, and virtualization software (VMware's vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‑V) on a set of enterprise‑level IT systems
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a similar Information Technology Field.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in Storage Administration, specifically including:
- Net App storage systems experience; that includes experience with Net App systems administration support for large‑scale Windows/UNIX/Linux environments.
- 10 years of experience installing and configuring Net App storage systems.
- 10 years of experience writing scripts with a scripting language
- 5 years of experience using OCI
- 5 years of experience in managing Flex Pod integration with Net App storage
- 2 years of experience with AWS On‑Premise and AWS migrations
- Familiarity with Dev Ops and ITIL processes
