The organization is pursuing a Sr. Senior Platform Engineer III to support mission-critical federal workloads through Kubernetes platform engineering, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation. The role operates within an Agile delivery model and requires clear communication with stakeholders while ensuring platform reliability, performance, and security.
This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, offering a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Qualified applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis.
Salary: $185,000 - $255,000/ yr. w2
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a collaborative and high-performing team delivering technical solutions within the highest levels of the federal government.
- Design and operate Kubernetes and container platforms supporting mission-critical workloads.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation.
- Ensure platform scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Participate in Agile execution, planning, and continuous improvement activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in complex environments.
- Communicate platform status, risks, and technical decisions clearly to stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain customer trust and confidence through technical expertise and professionalism.
- Apply creativity and engineering judgment to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Experience Requirements
- Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator and Terraform Associate certifications.
- DoD 8140 certification aligned to the 451 System Administrator work role (e.g., Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP).
- 6+ years of experience in systems or Dev Ops engineering, including 3+ years with Kubernetes and container technologies.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes or Open Shift.
- Hands-on experience ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of containerized environments in enterprise or mission-critical settings.
- Operational experience managing CI/CD pipelines, container build processes, and infrastructure automation.
- Experience deploying, managing, and operating container runtimes, orchestration tooling, and supporting services.
- Experience with Kubernetes ecosystem tooling including Rancher, Helm, Docker, Cilium, Rook, Ceph, MinIO, S3, and Port Worx.
- Experience leading or assisting in design and implementation of complex integrated container platforms.
- Ability to contribute immediately with minimal ramp-up in a mission-critical operational environment.
Education Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification.
- Terraform Associate certification.
- DoD 8140-aligned certification such as Security+, Cloud+, SSCP, CASP+, or CISSP.
- Active Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
