We are seeking a Medical Copyright & Licensing Expert to lead the acquisition and licensing strategy for high-quality medical content used in advanced AI medical models.
In this role, you will identify and negotiate partnerships with leading international medical journals and scientific publishers, structure complex licensing agreements, and support compliant use of medical data for AI training and research applications.
You will work at the intersection of medicine, scientific publishing, copyright law, and artificial intelligence, helping expand access to trusted medical knowledge while ensuring responsible and compliant data use.
Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and negotiate content licensing agreements with international medical journals and scientific publishers
Design partnership models including content licensing, distribution agreements, and strategic collaboration
Lead negotiations involving Text and Data Mining (TDM) rights and other complex data licensing structures
Build relationships with editorial, legal, and commercial teams across the global medical publishing ecosystem
Develop strategies for medical data acquisition and licensing supporting AI model development
Ensure compliance with international copyright regulations and data mining policies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams across medical, legal, research, and technology functions
Candidate RequirementsMasters degree or above in biomedical sciences, clinical medicine, pharmacy, or a related field
(MD or PhD strongly preferred)
5+ years of experience in one of the following areas:
Copyright licensing, rights management, or content partnerships within scientific or medical publishing
Data acquisition, content strategy, or AI data partnerships within a technology or AI-focused organization
Experience negotiating complex data or content licensing agreements, including Text and Data Mining (TDM) rights
Strong familiarity with the international medical publishing ecosystem and major scientific journals
Experience working with or negotiating with scientific publishers, medical journals, or research organizations
Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and partnership development capabilities
Professional-level Chinese language proficiency with the ability to conduct business discussions in Chinese
Currently based in the United States
