The Jr. Systems Administrator supports the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, user accounts, endpoints, and core systems. This role focuses on providing hands‑on technical support, assisting with system administration tasks, monitoring system performance, and escalating complex issues as needed. The Jr. Systems Administrator will work closely with senior IT staff and other departments to help maintain secure, reliable, and efficient technology services.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist with administering, configuring, and supporting Windows Server infrastructure and core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services under the guidance of senior IT staff
- Monitor system health, logs, and alerts; respond to routine incidents and service requests; document issues and elevate more complex problems when necessary
- Support backup and restore operations by monitoring jobs, assisting with recovery tasks, and helping maintain current operational documentation and runbooks
- Perform user account management, access provisioning, and basic system maintenance activities, including patching, updates, and routine checks
- Provide desktop and endpoint support for Windows 10/11 systems, including troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues
- Assist with IT projects, system deployments, asset tracking, and knowledge base updates to improve operational efficiency and end‑user support
- Administer the SharePoint Knowledgebase site, including creating folders and managing permission groups
- Must be able to support monthly maintenance activities and on‑call rotation for critical outages
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, or equivalent experience, plus 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Active Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one.
- Foundational experience supporting Windows Server environments and core services such as Active Directory, DNS/DHCP, Group Policy, and file/print services
- Experience supporting Windows Server and Windows 10/11 systems, including troubleshooting, break/fix support, and endpoint configuration
- Familiarity with backup and restore processes, patching, system monitoring, and routine maintenance activities
- Exposure to virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and vCenter is preferred
- Basic knowledge of Power Shell scripting, SharePoint administration, and SQL concepts is a plus
- Strong customer service, written communication, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to document work clearly and collaborate effectively across teams
- Preferred certifications and training (or similar equivalents):
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft 365 Certified:

Azure Fundamentals - Microsoft Certified:
Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate - ITIL Foundations
