Remote Data Governance Engineer
The Data Governance Engineer supports all organization-wide data governance activities and will be responsible for deploying key Data Governance processes that pertain to the sourcing, management, development and consumption of data assets across the enterprise. The position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices, both at the department and Business and
Functional area
s level, to achieve the required level of consistency, quality and protection to meet overall needs.
Experience:
- Minimum three years in a developer role. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and other data warehouse tools. Experience in the development and optimization of a Data Catalog. Required
Additional Skills/Requirements required:
Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads with minimal supervision. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Values and encourages team collaboration. Knowledge of developing and maintaining a data catalog. Run SQL queries to identify data issues, data fixes, and validate new and existing data. Ability to follow data flows to derive data lineage. Perform research, data collection, quality assurance, analysis and problem solving.
Utilization of change management processes and agile methodology. Communication and team collaboration skills. Should be comfortable working with senior technology and business stakeholders. Understand concepts around Data Dictionary, Data Catalog, Data Lineage and Metadata. Prior experience in data analysis, data Understand constructs of metrics and terms. Metadata and data structures knowledge along with exposure to general application data flow. Prior experience with a large Data Warehouse.
Experience in technical design with a strong background/track record of working in a high performance environment. Experience in Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies. Strong SQL and Microsoft Excel experience. Knowledge of Data Governance practices and data classification concepts.
Additional Skills/Requirements preferred:
Knowledge and experience with configuring and managing Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC), Informatica Axon, and Informatica Data Quality (IDQ). Experience with Microsoft Azure tools. Experience with Unix operating systems. Other technical skills preferred, such as API, Power Shell, Dax and Power Query M, Python, Databricks, and Attunity. Understanding of agile framework and methodology.
