Position

Data Scientist

Overview

As a data scientist at Booz Allen you will turn complex data sets into actionable insights and work across private and public sectors—from fraud detection to cancer research and national intelligence—to help find answers in data. You will guide teammates, lead algorithm development, and use the right tools and frameworks to advise clients in making informed decisions.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience using data science programming languages such as Python or R.
  • Experience creating ETL pipelines, including querying APIs, cleaning and conditioning data, and creating schemas for data storage.
  • Experience with version control tools such as git, Git Lab, Git Hub, or Bitbucket.
  • Experience developing scripts and programs for converting data into usable formats and supporting project teams to scale, monitor, and operate data platforms.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and machine learning methods.
  • Ability to design and develop automated analytic software, techniques, and algorithms.
  • Ability to develop solutions and integrate or extend free and open‑source or COTS products.
  • Ability to generate data visualizations with Python libraries such as Tkinter or Streamlit.
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of experience in data science, or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
Nice to Have
  • Experience with GEOINT, HUMINT, MASINT, OSINT, SIGINT data and associated tools.
  • Programming with Java.
  • Experience in intelligence or operations analysis in the DoD or Intelligence Community.
  • Knowledge of Dev Ops, including CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification.
Compensation and Benefits

Salary range: $77,600 to $176,000 per year. Benefits include health, life, disability, financial, and retirement plans; paid leave; professional development and tuition assistance; work‑life programs; and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week are eligible for benefit programs.

Work Model

Remote, hybrid, or onsite work may be required depending on the role and client needs.
