Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a dedicated Agile delivery team on a large-scale client modernization program. This role is responsible for facilitating Agile ceremonies, maintaining the team's delivery cadence, removing delivery impediments, promoting Agile best practices, and helping the team effectively leverage AI-assisted delivery tools throughout the software development lifecycle.
The Scrum Master will work closely with the Product Owner, Technical Lead, Software Engineers, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, Dev Sec Ops Engineers, and other Scrum Masters to ensure efficient sprint execution, transparent delivery metrics, and continuous team improvement. The successful candidate will foster collaboration, support Agile delivery, and help teams consistently deliver high-quality software.

Key Responsibilities

Agile Delivery Facilitation
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews (Demos), Sprint Retrospectives, and other Scrum events.
  • Ensure Scrum ceremonies are productive, time-boxed, and aligned with Agile principles.
  • Guide the team in following Scrum practices and maintaining a consistent delivery cadence.
  • Encourage collaboration and effective communication among team members.
Impediment & Risk Management
  • Identify, track, and remove impediments that impact sprint execution and team productivity.
  • Escalate unresolved blockers, dependencies, and delivery risks to appropriate program leadership.
  • Help shield the team from unnecessary disruptions that affect sprint commitments.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues affecting sprint execution.
Sprint Tracking & Metrics
  • Maintain Agile boards, sprint metrics, team dashboards, and sprint reports.
  • Track sprint progress, team capacity, velocity, and delivery commitments.
  • Promote transparency through accurate reporting of team progress and delivery metrics.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools to support sprint reporting, metrics collection, and delivery visibility.
Cross-Team Coordination
  • Coordinate with other Scrum Masters to manage cross-team dependencies and integration points.
  • Support communication between delivery teams to facilitate coordinated sprint execution.
  • Identify dependency risks and assist with coordination across multiple Agile teams.
  • Support program-level planning and synchronization activities where appropriate.
Product Owner Support
  • Support the Product Owner during backlog refinement and backlog management activities.
  • Help ensure user stories are sufficiently refined and sprint-ready prior to Sprint Planning.
  • Assist with prioritization discussions by identifying delivery risks and technical dependencies.
  • Support effective sprint planning and commitment activities.
Continuous Improvement
  • Facilitate Sprint Retrospectives and help the team identify actionable improvement opportunities.
  • Encourage adoption of Agile best practices and continuous process improvement.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, transparency, and continuous learning.
  • Support implementation of agreed-upon improvement actions across successive sprints.
Release Support
  • Support release planning and release readiness activities.
  • Coordinate with delivery teams to ensure sprint deliverables support planned releases.
  • Assist with tracking release dependencies, milestones, and readiness activities.
  • Support communication of release status to program leadership when required.
Minimum Experience
  • 2+ years of experience serving as a Scrum Master for Agile software.
Position Requirements
Bachelor, 3+ Years work experience
Mandatory Skills
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master I (PSM I) certification.
  • Experience facilitating Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Reviews, Sprint Retrospectives, and backlog refinement sessions.
  • Working knowledge of Jira or equivalent Agile project management tools.
  • Experience maintaining Agile boards, sprint metrics, team dashboards, and sprint reporting.
  • Experience identifying, tracking, escalating, and resolving delivery impediments.
  • Experience coordinating cross-team dependencies and Agile delivery activities.
  • Strong understanding of Scrum principles, Agile delivery practices, and iterative software development.
  • Strong facilitation, organizational, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Product Owners, engineering teams, and program stakeholders.
  • U.S. work authorization with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Public Trust clearance.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), SAFe Advanced Scrum Master (SASM), or equivalent SAFe certification.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Federal Government agencies or government contractors.
  • Experience supporting enterprise software modernization or digital transformation programs.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted estimation, sprint planning, reporting, or Agile delivery tools.
  • Experience working with Azure Dev Ops, Rally, Version One, or similar Agile management platforms.
  • Experience supporting distributed or geographically diverse Agile teams.
