About the Opportunity

DMI, LLCis seeking a Unix/Linux Administrator
to join our team.

As a Unix/Linux Administrator, you will play a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Linux-based systems for. Combining your knowledge of RHEL, cloud platforms, Oracle Linux, you will ensure our systems are stable, secure, and performant. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end management of our Linux environment and collaboration with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical applications.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, etc.).
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V, etc.).
  • Expertise in shell scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with version control tools like Git.
  • Understanding of system security best practices and tools.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to complete technical projects independently.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, along with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Install, configure, and maintain Linux‑based servers and systems (Red Hat).
  • Manage system performance, monitoring, backups, and troubleshooting.
  • Ensure system security by configuring to CIS recommended baselines and applying patches and updates.
  • Collaborate with the other operations teams to configure environments and troubleshoot system‑related issues.
  • Monitor and resolve hardware, software, and networking issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine system upgrades, patching, and security compliance checks.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support for escalated issues.
  • Resolve incidents and tasks as assigned.
  • Provide emergency response to critical outages or incidents.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for internal use.
Qualifications Required and Desired Skills/Certifications
  • Candidate must be able to meet DoD IAT Level 2 Certification requirements (Currently Security+ CE, CCNA‑Security, GSEC, or SSCP)
  • Not required, but desired a Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or Linux Professional Institute Certification (LPIC‑2) and CompTIA Linux+.

Background Requirements: Must possess or be eligible to obtain and complete a Public Trust background investigation and/or a Public Trust clearance.

Location: Washington, DC

Work Arrangement: Hybrid – Onsite support at Headquarters in Washington, DC at least 2 times per week or as needed to meet the needs of the program

Minimum Salary Rate $121,600

Median Salary Rate $152,000
