IT Project Manager

Location:
Washington, DC (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote)

Position Overview

PS2G is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to support its Business Intelligence Group. This individual will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of technology-focused initiatives, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational objectives.

The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, vendors, and executive leadership to drive enterprise technology initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and software implementation projects.

Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Initiation
  • Partner with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, resource allocations, and dependency tracking.
  • Establish governance structures, communication plans, and reporting frameworks.
Project Execution & Oversight
  • Manage day-to-day project activities to ensure alignment with scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, vendors, consultants, and business partners.
  • Identify, monitor, and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and deliverables.
Technology Implementation
  • Lead implementation of enterprise applications, cloud solutions, infrastructure upgrades, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support system integration, testing, deployment, and organizational change management activities.
  • Ensure compliance with agency technology standards, security requirements, and governance policies.
Stakeholder Communication
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports, dashboards, and executive briefings.
  • Facilitate project kickoffs, steering committee meetings, and status updates.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of project decisions, risks, action items, and lessons learned.
Continuous Improvement
  • Monitor project performance metrics and recommend process improvements.
  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and lessons learned sessions.
  • Promote best practices utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid project management methodologies.
Required Qualifications Education
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Technology, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience
  • Minimum of:
  • 3 years of project management experience with a PMP or Certified Scrum Master (CSM) certification; OR
  • 7 years of project management experience without PMP or CSM certification.
Technical Skills
  • Proven experience managing software implementation projects.
  • Experience overseeing enterprise technology initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of project governance, budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
  • Experience using:
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Microsoft Planner
  • Microsoft Loop
  • Microsoft Lists
  • Jira
  • Power BI
Professional Skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Experience with risk management and conflict resolution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
  • Experience managing projects utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Experience with in government, housing finance, public sector, or regulated environments.
  • Advanced knowledge and practical experience utilizing Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies and tools.
Work Environment
  • Hybrid work schedule:
  • Minimum three (3) days per week onsite in Washington, DC.
  • Up to two (2) days remote, based on agency needs.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively across multiple stakeholder groups.
