Desktop System Engineer
The Desktop System Engineer will play a crucial role in the management and maintenance of our desktop infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Microsoft Intune, Windows, MacOS environments, and proficiency in utilizing tools like Patch
MyPC for efficient software updates. This individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement, support, and enhance desktop systems, ensuring the highest level of performance, security, and end-user satisfaction.
- Intune Management:
- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Intune for the deployment, configuration, and security of desktop devices.
- Develop and maintain Intune profiles, policies, and compliance rules to meet organizational standards.
- Develop and maintain conditional access policies in MS Azure.
- Operating System Expertise:
- Administer and support Windows and MacOS desktop environments.
- Utilize Intune and third-party tool Patch
MyPC to automate and streamline software deployments and updates across the desktop environment. - Troubleshoot and resolve operating system-related issues promptly.
- Stay abreast of the latest updates and security patches, ensuring timely implementation.
- Desktop Optimization:
- Collaborate with end-users to understand their desktop needs and provide effective solutions.
- Implement best practices for desktop configuration, application deployment, and system customization.
- Security and Compliance:
- Enforce security policies and configurations to protect against vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security audits and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- User Support:
- Provide technical support to end-users, addressing desktop-related issues and inquiries.
- Collaborate with the Helpdesk team to streamline support processes and improve user experience.
- Documentation and Training:
- Maintain accurate documentation for desktop configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Conduct training sessions for end-users on new features and best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Desktop System Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Intune, Windows, MacOS, iOS devices, and Patch
MyPC. - Strong knowledge and experience in MS Azure conditional access policies.
- Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, software, and peripherals.
- Experience in scripting and automation for system administration tasks.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Solid understanding of security best practices and compliance standards.
- Strong experience with endpoint protection solutions.
- Working knowledge of GPO for configuring user and computer settings.
- Familiarity with Apple Device Enrollment Program.
- Certifications such as Microsoft Certified:
Modern Desktop Administrator Associate. - Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and/or VDI technologies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
