Hybrid 2 in office 3 days remote in Washington, DC
Our client seeks a Business Analyst to support a DOJ-aligned program that develops and enhances the Consolidated Asset Tracking System. The role focuses on eliciting and documenting detailed functional and technical requirements, preparing developers to implement features, coordinating across developers, testers, operations, and government stakeholders, and producing clear technical documentation and presentations. The environment is a hybrid of waterfall and agile practices, with strong emphasis on communication, client interaction, and SDLC experience.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $35.00 to $40.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Elicit, analyze, and document detailed functional and technical requirements for web-based applications.
- Prepare clear specification documents and analysis sheets that enable developers to implement features.
- Coordinate work with developers, testers, operations, engineers, and client stakeholders.
- Develop wireframes and contribute to solution design using standard methods and tools.
- Investigate, analyze, and resolve routine and advanced issues in selected functional areas.
- Perform needs analysis, requirements definition, and recommend system improvements or operational optimizations.
- Author technical documentation, presentations, and conduct application demonstrations.
- Support solutions training and deliver technical presentations.
- Suggest database design changes and perform database queries to troubleshoot problems.
- Contribute to project deliverables within a hybrid waterfall and agile environment.
- Experience with technical requirements analysis and detailed documentation for software applications.
- Proficiency across the SDLC with demonstrated applications support experience.
- Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, both written and verbal.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to generate and evaluate solution alternatives.
- Familiarity with tools and practices such as Jira, HTML, and wire framing tools.
- Ability to collaborate in a client-facing environment with government stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience specific to technical requirements analysis, or equivalent experience.
