Position Overview:The Consulting Data Architect must be able to design M&O data platforms using batch, real-time, and event-driven architectures. They must also be able to create conceptual, logical, and physical data models for different modeling patterns (star, kimball, etc) and technologies (OLTP and OLAP). These models will be focused on event insight, system / platform health, and IT Operation KPIs. The Data Architect will integrate tools, such as Logic Monitor, Service Now and Big Panda into platforms they design.
Additionally, they must be able to build the systems they design and work with data engineers as a SME.
- Presents and communicates project results and issues clearly to internal WWT teams. Contributes to WWT's knowledge repository with POCs and articles
- Works with WWT BD team to support an SSA for a large BD services effort
- Designs event driven architectures in partnership with the client or WWT’s application development teams.
- Engages customers during pre-sales, understanding their requirements, and delivering solutions.
- Acts as a trusted strategic advisor for all things related for IT monitor & observability.
- Provides guidance on when and how to utilize different data processing frameworks and tools.
- Works with businesses of all sizes, from Fortune 50 companies to startups.
- Builds tools, processes, and documentation to standardize the way we work.
- Provides thought leadership around the ever-changing landscape of IT Operations and data streaming technologies & architecture through blog posts and speaking opportunities.
As a Data Architect, you will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring peers within WWT as the data practice grows and expands. Successful applicants must have the experience and capability to perform the following:
- Architecting, prototyping, and building data platforms using Apache Kafka, Neo4j, Splunk, Azure Event Hub, or similar technologies.
- Designing and building streaming applications for data platforms using frameworks such as Kafka Streams, Spark, and Apache Flink.
- Understanding and configuring underlying data platforms (g., for performance, reliability, security) according to the needs of the client.
