Department Bio
- This position supports the work of the Financial Shared Services and the GW Information Technology (IT) Materials Management team in technology equipment. The position provides valuable experience with handling technology, customer service, and data entry.
Position
Description:
The position will support all logistical work conducted by Asset Management. The student will report to the Supervisor of IT Asset Management.
Position Specific Summary
- Assist with shipping and receiving of technology equipment. Validate that equipment received from suppliers is accurate. Perform physical audits of all GW IT purchased assets at both the Foggy Bottom campus and Data entry into the IT Asset Management database system and tracking software Affixing tags or labels to technology assets. Assist with staging technology equipment for deployment. Assist with technology customer pickup of equipment and ensure that assets have been appropriately signed for.
The incumbent may perform other related duties as assigned. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Standard Position Description
- The student will provide basic technical and computer support assistance to departments and customers. Tasks may include: assisting customers with basic technical support remotely and in person, ensuring that technology is functional and available for use, assisting with point of sale transactions. Special projects or other duties may be assigned related to specific departmental needs.
