Position Summary:
The Jr Dev Sec Ops Engineer is responsible for building, implementing, and supporting secure software delivery pipelines for an AWS-based federal platform. Working as part of an Agile engineering team, this role develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines, implements Infrastructure as Code (IaC), integrates automated security controls, and supports secure cloud deployments. The Jr Dev Sec Ops Engineer collaborates closely with Technical Leads, Developers, Cloud Engineers, Security Engineers, QA engineers, and fellow Dev Sec Ops engineers while leveraging AI-assisted Dev Sec Ops tools to improve security, automation, software quality, and delivery efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using AWS-native services, including AWS Code Pipeline and AWS Code Build.
- Develop and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using AWS CDK and AWS Cloud Formation.
- Integrate automated security scanning, including SAST, DAST, SCA, and policy-as-code, into CI/CD pipelines.
- Automate compliance evidence collection and reporting to support FedRAMP and NIST security controls.
- Support automated environment provisioning and deployment strategies, including blue/green and canary deployments.
- Utilize AI-assisted Dev Sec Ops tools to improve security scanning, testing, pipeline development, and deployment automation.
- Monitor pipeline health, troubleshoot deployment issues, and continuously improve delivery performance and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with Developers, Cloud Engineers, Security teams, QA engineers, and Technical Leads throughout the software development lifecycle.
Minimum Experience:
- 3+ years of professional Dev Ops or Dev Sec Ops engineering experience.
- Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience implementing security automation within software delivery pipelines.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar.
Mandatory

- Willingness to work a hybrid schedule (3 remote days) in Reston, VA, and client locations throughout the Washington, D.C. area as required.

Degrees and Certifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
Preferred
- AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer – Professional.
- AWS Certified Security – Specialty or other relevant AWS certification.
