We are seeking a Senior Advanced Data Analyst to join our team and support our client. The ideal candidate will have extensive investigative experience and advanced analytics expertise, applying predictive analytics, geospatial analysis, and network analysis to large, complex datasets in support of HSI's National Targeting Center–Investigations (NTC-I) and Homeland Security Task Forces (HSTFs).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply predictive and advanced analytics to reveal trafficking and smuggling trends, cross-border routes, and high-risk facilitators.
- Build, maintain, and enhance dashboards and visualization tools that support intelligence‑led targeting operations and leadership decision‑making.
- Conduct geospatial analysis, network/link analysis, and other advanced analytic techniques across trade, travel, financial, communications, and supply‑chain data.
- Transform complex, multi‑source datasets into actionable intelligence products aligned with NTC‑I and HSTF priorities.
- Support lead generation and targeting initiatives by integrating data from multiple systems and producing high‑quality analytic outputs.
- Collaborate with HSI Data SMEs, Senior Data Visualization Developers, Program Manager, and law‑enforcement partners to ensure analytic products are operationally relevant and timely.
Work Experience and Job Skills
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in advanced data analytics, data science, or quantitative analysis, preferably in a law‑enforcement, intelligence, or national security environment.
- Hands‑on experience with BI tools and data visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) for building operational dashboards.
- Strong background in statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and anomaly detection techniques.
- Experience conducting geospatial and network/link analysis using tools such as GIS platforms or graph/network analysis software.
- Proficiency in querying and manipulating large datasets from multiple data sources; familiarity with SQL or similar query languages preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to translate analytic findings into clear, concise written products and briefings that drive operational decisions.
Education
- Bachelor's Degree is required. Preferred field of study in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field of study.
- MBA/Master's Degree in a relevant field of study (e.g., Data Analytics, Public Policy with quantitative focus, Intelligence) preferred.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
- Professional certifications in data analytics, data science, or BI/visualization tools are preferred.
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex quantitative findings to leadership and to frontline investigative teams.
- Ability to write clear and concise analytic narratives and visual explanations in a highly confidential environment.
Clearance Requirements
- Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance is required.
Travel
- Occasional travel may be required to support client meetings, training, or coordination with field offices.
- Mainly a routine office environment.
- May be required to lift up to ten (10) pounds.
- Flexible in working extended hours.
