IT QA Tester / Automation, IT Consultant, Systems Analyst
Advent Business Company supports federal accessibility programs. We are naming Section 508 specialists now for a federal accessibility testing effort in Washington DC. The position is full time, on site, beginning in late September 2026, and is contingent on contract award.
ResponsibilitiesConduct accessibility assessments of web applications, software, electronic documents and media against WCAG 2.1 AA and the Revised Section 508 Standards, using the DHS Trusted Tester process and the ICT Testing Baseline.
Perform manual assistive technology testing, including configuring and operating JAWS and NVDA, screen magnification and voice input.
Assess and remediate electronic documents in Acrobat Pro and Common Look PDF, against a three business day turnaround and a 95 percent first pass validation standard.
Document, prioritize and report accessibility defects with reproduction steps and recommended corrections, and translate Accessibility Conformance Reports from VPATs.
Provide one on one consultation and training for developers and content owners.
Support helpdesk tickets through Service Now, deliver weekly reporting, and return test results within 48 hours of each assessment.
Evaluate assessment and remediation tooling and report on emerging technology.
QualificationsDHS Trusted Tester v5 certification, current. This is a hard requirement set by the customer and a certificate copy is required.
Substantial Section 508 and accessibility experience. Fifteen or more years sits at the top of the customer rating scale.
Depth in WCAG 2.1 AA and the Revised Section 508 Standards.
Hands on configuration of JAWS and NVDA.
Acrobat Pro, SharePoint and Microsoft 365.
Enterprise automated tooling such as Deque axe or axe Platform, World Space Comply, Attest, Assure or demonstrably comparable.
US citizen or lawful permanent resident, eligible for a Tier 2 Moderate Risk Public Trust background investigation.
Available on site in southwest Washington DC, Monday through Friday, standard business hours.
Strongly preferred: GSA Accessibility Requirements Tool (ART), Common Look PDF, Service Now, and IAAP WAS in addition to Trusted Tester.
