About the role

Global tech trade association ITI is seeking a Digital Director to lead our digital presence and social strategy at a pivotal moment for the technology industry and the policy debates shaping it. This is a senior individual contributor role ideal for a digitally savvy strategist who is equally comfortable setting direction and rolling up their sleeves to execute — someone who understands the policy landscape, knows how to reach and engage audiences, and brings fresh, forward-thinking ideas about how a tech industry association should show up online.

This person will own our digital channels end-to-end and serve as the connective tissue between our public affairs, policy, and advocacy teams.

Your Responsibilities Strategy & Vision
  • Develop and drive an integrated digital and social media strategy aligned with the organization's policy priorities, advocacy goals, and member engagement objectives.
  • Identify emerging platforms, tools, and formats and make smart recommendations about where and how the organization should leverage digital assets.
  • Establish KPIs, track performance, and translate data into actionable insights and narrative for leadership.
Digital & Content Development and Management
  • Own all aspects of the organization's website (itic.org), including content strategy and publishing, SEO and AI search optimization, performance, and vendor/platform management for technical maintenance and upgrades.
  • Develop and execute a content calendar across owned channels — website and social media (Linked In, X/Twitter, and others as relevant) — that reflects the organization's policy agenda and keeps audiences informed and engaged.
  • Ensure all digital content is accurate and appropriately calibrated for different audiences from policy audiences in the U.S to international stakeholders.
Policy & Stakeholder Fluency
  • Work closely with the policy team to translate complex legislative and regulatory issues into compelling, accessible digital content
  • Build familiarity with key policymakers, Hill staff, agency officials, and global counterparts to inform targeting and engagement strategies.
  • Support advocacy campaigns with digital amplification strategies that drive awareness and action among relevant audiences.
Innovation & Industry Perspective
  • Bring a tech-forward mindset to the role — actively experimenting with new tools, formats, and approaches that reflect the industry we represent.
  • Champion digital innovation internally, helping the organization model the kind of forward-thinking approach we advocate for externally.
Qualifications
  • At least five years of experience in digital communications, social media strategy, or a related field, with at least a portion of that in a policy, advocacy, government affairs, or association context
  • Deep fluency in social media platforms and content strategy, with a strong portfolio of work that demonstrates both strategic thinking and hands‑on execution
  • Genuine interest in and working knowledge of technology policy, including familiarity with key policy debates in the United States, EU and other key markets
  • Experience communicating to sophisticated, policy-oriented audiences
  • Strong writer and editor with the ability to adapt voice and format across channels and audiences
  • Comfort operating as a senior individual contributor in a mid-size organization — entrepreneurial, self‑directed, and collaborative
  • Proficiency with digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, native platform insights, etc.) and the ability to use data to inform strategy
  • Experience with CMS platforms including modern Word Press, email marketing tools, and basic design and video editing tools (Canva, Adobe, or similar)
  • Demonstrated experience managing an organization's website end-to-end, including content management, technical oversight and vendor coordination
  • Familiarity with web analytics, site performance tools, and emerging best practices for optimizing content for both traditional search and AI‑powered search experiences
What Success Looks Like in Year One
  • A refreshed, cohesive digital presence that reflects the organization's policy leadership and tech‑forward identity
  • A content and social strategy that is proactive rather than reactive — mapping to the policy calendar and anticipating key moments
  • Stronger engagement metrics across channels, particularly among policy and Hill audiences
  • Clear frameworks and workflows that make digital operation more efficient and scalable
Pay range

$110,000 – 120,000

Benefits
  • Health, dental, vision insurance
  • Retirement plan
  • Life and disability insurance
  • Commuting allowance
  • Tuition and Professional Development Reimbursement
  • Paid time off and holidays
