IT Project Manager
Mid-Level Project Manager
Join in Washington, DC, as a mid-level Project Manager within the Information Security department's PMO, overseeing technology projects with the Cyber Security Department. As a skilled Project Manager, you'll leverage best practices and cutting-edge Project Management tools, methodologies, and processes to ensure seamless project delivery within budget and schedule. These intricate, large-scale programs encompass various departments and external vendors, necessitating robust formal project management techniques to monitor, control, and report to senior management.
This role requires a hybrid approach, involving 2-3 days onsite per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Documentation: Direct technical leads, manage project team members, and maintain vital project documents, including charters, plans, requirements, designs, tests, and budgets.
- Program Reporting: Generate weekly program status reports, conduct essential project meetings, and manage project schedules using MS Enterprise Project Management (EPM) and MS Project Professional 2010.
- Budget and Risk Management: Monitor, report, and mitigate schedule and budget variances, ensure quality project schedules, and manage risks and changes within programs/projects.
- Stakeholder Communication: Communicate project progress, risks, and ongoing issues through established templates and processes, tailoring messages for different audiences.
- Operational Readiness: Identify and ensure timely completion of activities required for successful operational readiness reviews.
- Vendor Collaboration and Deliverables: Create SOWs, evaluate vendor responses, and collaborate with SAFe teams to deliver project capabilities, maintaining PLM artifacts.
- Presentations: Showcase projects at Quality Checkpoints and Department Level Project Reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
- 7-10 years of hands-on Program and Project management experience within formal methodologies.
- Significant technology management, analysis, and administration experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder interaction and protection of departmental interests.
- Proficiency in MS Project Office Professional, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and project management tools like MS Project Server (EPM), Ariba on Demand, etc.
- Certifications:
PMP, CSM, SAFe 5.5/6 related. Preferred experience in Information Security-related project management and security certifications like Security+, SSCP, or CISSP.
