Information Technology Student Trainee
This position is part of the Pathways Internship Program and is located at the Central Office, a Regional Office or an Institution of the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP). Serves as an Information Technology Student Trainee and will receive "hands-on" training in the areas of network management, user support, computer security program management, and software support for various packages. Performs functions to include: processing user work orders, troubleshooting various workstation problems, assisting and teaching users on a daily basis, adding, deleting, and maintaining network IDs.
Needs to have a good understanding of network servers, collaborative software, operating systems, and word processing software. Assists in isolating, analyzing and resolving problems and errors encountered by Bureau personnel network users. In particular, this includes workstation problems, user , network connectivity issues, Local Area Network (LAN) problems, and associated Wide Area Network (WAN) problems.
