Cloud Security Specialist (AWS

We are seeking a Cloud Security Specialist to support the Security Engineering team within the IT division. This is a 12-month contract position based in Washington, District of Columbia. The role focuses on strategy, design, deployment, and maintenance of effective security solutions in cloud, local, and hybrid environments.

• Implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures following industry best security practices and security frameworks
• Adopt and implement federal cybersecurity requirements, including the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, OMB Memorandum M-22-09, and NIST SP 800-53
• Provide deep analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting expertise to independently resolve complex security challenges
• Provide technical security consultation and advisory services with a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and engaging with team members and stakeholders
• Support the design and maintenance of security solutions across cloud, local, and hybrid environments

• Required
  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on AWS security experience
  • AWS Certified Security certification
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional or Associate certification
  • Demonstrated federal experience and comprehensive knowledge of federal cybersecurity requirements
  • Deep analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills to independently resolve complex security challenges
  • Strong understanding of security concepts and technologies related to Identity and Access
