Cyber Security Network Specialist

We are seeking an entry-level Cyber Security Network Specialist to join a Cybersecurity Operations team. This role involves supporting cybersecurity policies, programs, and initiatives. The specialist will focus on cyber security network defense, continuous monitoring within the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and information verification.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Assessment and Authorization efforts to support the mission defense team.
• Conduct active and passive Defensive Cyber Operations for In-House-Data-Management (DCO-IDM) to monitor, audit, detect, report, analyze, and mitigate threats.
• Support the development and management of cybersecurity policy, programs, and compliance.
• Implement a Computer Network Defense (CND) team to respond to computer security incidents.
• Review and validate System Authorization Access Request (SAAR) forms to enforce compliance with regulations.
• Work with entities for firewall rule changes and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) waivers.
• Prepare, review, and update authorization packages.
• Conduct periodic reviews of information systems to ensure compliance with the security authorization package.
• Identify cyber security vulnerabilities and assist with the implementation of countermeasures.
• Conduct security impact analysis activities on all configuration management changes.

Required Qualifications

Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Education:

A bachelor's degree is required. Additional years of applicable experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Experience:

0-3 years of prior relevant experience in cyber security. Candidates should understand the difference between IT support and cyber security.

Technical

Skills:

Experience with Active Directory is required.

Certifications:

CompTIA Security+ CE or a higher DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
