As we look to sustain our success and expand our reach, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Scientist / Data Integration Engineer, with extensive experience with Palantir's Foundry platform , to continue developing our teams and expanding our capabilities.
Job Description: MSI is the leader in the Federal adoption of Emerging Technologies. Our engagements span the civilian and defense sectors and include developing some of the most impactful automations that have been deployed in the Federal Government. Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Work primarily within a proprietary platform built on Palantir Foundry to rapidly integrate disparate sources, produce visualizations, and illuminate insights that inform critical mission decisions.
- Build and maintain data pipelines and transformations using Foundry's low-code tooling (Pipeline Builder, Contour) - profiling, cleansing, joining, and validating data quickly, without the need for formal software development.
- Leverage and extend the Ontology (objects, links, and actions) to model complex mission data, ensuring it remains reusable, scalable, and intuitive across downstream applications.
- Develop and iterate analyst- and leadership-facing dashboards in Workshop and Quiver, tailoring applications to how stakeholders actually make decisions in real-time.
- Conduct exploratory and recurring analysis: establish KPIs, surface anomalies proactively, and present findings in plain language with appropriate caveats and data quality measures.
- Serve as a Senior Data Advisor to client stakeholders - eliciting requirements, advising on analytic feasibility, and rapidly translating ambiguous questions into deliverable data products.
- Partner with business and system owners to navigate data sharing agreements; expertly apply Foundry markings and permissions to strictly enforce need-to-know access controls.
Qualifications:
Technical
Skills:
- Bachelors, Masters, or PHD in Data Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Note:
Experience in lieu of an advanced degree is acceptable. - Foundry Certification
- Data Engineer preferred; 3+ years of hands-on experience in using Palantir’s Foundry in lieu of certification is acceptable. - Languages:
SQL, Python (PySpark). - Data modeling and architecture (canonical, normalization, star schema, etc.).
- API data contracts and schemas (JSON Schema).
Bonus
Experience:
- Familiarity with federal data governance context:
FedRAMP, CUI handling, Section 508 accessibility, records retention, and ATO processes
