Scrum Master​/Team Leader

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join an agile program management team on a contract basis for a minimum of six months. This role is based in Washington, Washington, and involves serving as a servant leader for agile teams, facilitating ceremonies, removing impediments, and coaching teams toward self-organization and high performance within a complex, matrixed organization. The Senior Scrum Master will work closely with Agile Coaches and Product Owners while adhering to organizational Agile playbooks and standards, operating independently on day-to-day execution while navigating organizational complexity and driving continuous improvement.

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies and serve as a servant leader for the agile team

• Build self-organizing, empowered teams that take ownership of commitments and foster accountability for sprint goals and delivery
• Address team conflicts and dysfunctions; build psychological safety and collaboration within the team
• Navigate resistance to Agile practices and guide teams through cultural and mindset shifts
• Facilitate meaningful retrospectives that drive action and implement improvements based on team feedback
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and learning mindset
• Coach teams toward Agile maturity while operating within established organizational playbooks and standards
• Shield the team from external disruptions and manage stakeholder relationships

• Required
  • At least seven (7) years of hands-on experience as a Scrum Master serving multiple teams in complex, matrixed organizations
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM II or higher) certification
  • Proven track record building self-organizing teams and driving measurable improvements in team velocity and predictability
  • Demonstrated ability to address team conflicts, build psychological safety, and guide teams through cultural and mindset shifts
  • Strong facilitation, conflict resolution, change management, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working within established organizational playbooks while coaching teams to Agile maturity
• Preferred
  • Advanced agile certifications such as Certified Scrum Professional or SAFe Scrum Master
  • Government or highly regulated industry experience
