Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)
Serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), who provides direction and supervision to a staff of professional and administrative personnel and Contractors. Defines and drives the security implementation and assessment of IT infrastructure systems, security controls, standards and technology, and ensures that FBOP systems maintain compliance with all applicable security guidelines. The incumbent maintains final "TOP SECRET" clearance as a condition of assignment to this position.
Handles CLASSIFIED documents and communications in a manner consistent with Executive Order 12356, 28 CFR part 17, and appropriate DOJ orders. Provides authoritative advice and guidance related to the Federal Bureau of Prisons' (FBOP) IT security program. Serves as senior expert and consultant to top agency management officials, including Department of Justice (DOJ), for security advice on integrating IT programs with other key mission-critical agency programs.
Develops and implements training for all BOP staff ensuring awareness of information security encompassing computer support, hardware, software, systems, procedures, data, telecommunications, personnel, physical environment, networks and firmware.
