Job Description

NASFAA seeks a customer-service-focused Database Specialist to serve as the internal point of contact for our AMS, iMIS. This role prioritizes two stakeholder sets - supporting staff and leadership constituents during and after a transition from the current platform to the cloud-based version, and to members in the delivery of assistance for member questions, payments, and other support areas.

While this position is housed within the Membership Department, it is a cross-functional role as this person will work with internal and external teams to maintain, modify, train, and guide the use of the iMIS Staff site. Further, this role will be integral to the migration from use of the desktop platform to the site-based one; testing, data confirmation, report updating and writing, and other related tasks.

The ideal candidate is well-versed in multiple versions of iMIS and maintains a service-focused demeanor, making the nuances of the database management approachable and understandable. They can get into the details of the data, work with internal and external teams to determine the best delivery method, and help enable constituents to self-serve.

NASFAA is a remote-first, mission-driven national organization dedicated to supporting the financial aid profession and advocating for policies that expand student access and success in higher education. NASFAA maintains a fast-paced environment grounded in strategic planning, creativity, and problem-solving.

NASFAA is committed to attracting and retaining a diverse and talented workforce. It is the policy of NASFAA not to discriminate against any applicant for employment based on disability or veteran status. Reasonable accommodations are provided to employees whose ability to perform their job is affected by pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions. NASFAA is an equal opportunity employer.

NASFAA offers excellent benefits, including 100% paid health insurance premiums for employees and partially covered dependent coverage, as well as a contributory retirement savings plan.
