Junior Security Operations Center; SOC) Analyst

Cybersecurity Analyst

* This position is contingent upon a future opening with Gunnison.

* This will be a short-term 6-month position.

Salary: $85,000 - $105,000/year

Work Location:

On-site 5 days per week, Washington, DC.

Execute operational cybersecurity functions.

Triage and analyze security alerts.

Support continuous monitoring activities.

Coordinate incident response actions.

Identify and mitigate operational risks.

Maintain compliance and support threat detection workflows.

Requirements

2+ years of experience in SOC operations and incident response.

Hands-on experience analyzing security alerts and supporting threat detection workflows.

Strong knowledge of the NIST RMF and evaluating system configurations.

Security+, CySA+, or equivalent.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT, or related field.

Clearance Requirement:
Active Secret Clearance.

Desired Qualifications

Incident Response certification (e.g., GCIH) or Cloud Security certification.

Specialized training in digital forensics or incident response.

The salary range for this position depends upon multiple factors including location, the individual's knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, and contract-specific budget constraints and organizational requirements.
