About the Role

We're partnering with a promising non-profit organization looking for a Data Gov Manager to drive their Data Governance strategy. We’re looking for an experienced Data Manager to lead the development of a data governance framework, oversee data quality and reporting initiatives, and manage a small team of data professionals. This is a strategic and collaborative role requiring strong communication across departments, light technical experience, and a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement a scalable data governance framework
• Manage and mentor a team of 2–3 data staff
• Oversee the integration, standardization, and documentation of data from multiple systems
• Support reporting and dashboarding needs using Power BI
• Maintain data catalogs and ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders
• Provide training and documentation to non-technical users
• Ensure compliance with data privacy and regulatory standards
• Support data infrastructure and pipeline work within an AWS environment

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data management, governance, or analytics
• Proven experience managing or mentoring technical teams
• Solid understanding of SQL, ETL processes, Power BI, and working within cloud environments (AWS preferred)
• Strong communication skills and experience working cross-functionally
• Familiarity with data governance best practices and compliance standards
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Data Science, Information Systems)
