Senior IT Specialist; Network Engineer

This is a full-time position with the Office of Information Technology at the Supreme Court of the United States in Washington, D.C.

• Minimum of five years Network Infrastructure (NI) experience in the following categories:
• Performing analysis and fault isolation functions, with hands‑on working‑level knowledge of Wireless Networks, Routers and Switches, Hardware Load Balancers, Firewalls, VPN and Security Appliances.
• Candidate must be able to demonstrate recent experience performing hardware set‑up and installation as well as documenting installation and configuration changes on wireless network infrastructure.
• Expert level working knowledge of Wireless Networks, TCP/IP, Ethernet, Vlans, Routing Protocols (OSPF/BGP), Network Security, and IP Traffic Capturing Software required.
• Prepare detailed project plans, evaluate and implement technology enhancements, and diagnose technical faults in a complex Network Infrastructure (NI).

  Certifications:
  
  Professional Level Firewall certification, CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional), F5 CTS-301 (F5-Certified Technical Specialist focus in BIG-IP LTM).
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, ability to communicate and understand technical information, comprehend technical instructions, evaluate problems, and assist users; ability to remain calm and professional in high stress environment when confronted with challenging situations, short time frames, or other pressing and urgent requests.
