Business Technology Integrators (BTI) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) with more than 25 years of experience delivering innovative and reliable IT and engineering solutions to the Federal Government. BTI supports mission-critical programs across defense and civilian agencies, with core expertise in cybersecurity, program management, enterprise IT, and technical oversight services.
BTI is currently searching for a Senior Database Administrator to fulfill the roles and responsibilities below:
Roles and Responsibilities- The DBA will design & develop robust and scalable data architecture that supports data transfers, storage, transformation, and reporting requirements. Work with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), system owners, customers, and end-users to understand their mission, current architecture, security requirements and deliverables.
- Create and maintain data models that facilitate efficient data transfer and storage, ensuring data quality and integrity.
- Manage and optimize database systems, including monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure high availability and performance.
- Collaborate with external agencies to establish data transfer processes, APIs, and integration points, ensuring secure and efficient data flow.
- Implement data security measures, access controls, and encryption to protect sensitive information during data transfers and storage.
- Continuously monitor and optimize data pipelines and databases for improved efficiency and reduced latency.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data architecture, integration processes, and database configurations. Ensure data compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as NIST, FIPS, HIPAA, or others as applicable.
- Undergraduate college degree from an accredited college or university in computer science, information systems management, information technology, or other discipline related to the requirements of this project, or equivalent experience
- At least 8 years of progressively responsible IT experience, which includes at least five years of experience performing data modeling, data architect, and database administration duties.
- Experience with data masking and data encryption of personal and financial information in such a manner that it would comply with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Publication 1075 and its encryption requirements
- Experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions
- Experience with database management and administration systems such as MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle
- Experience with and in-depth knowledge of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
- Experience developing and implementing Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes to gather and load data obtained from external sources
- Experience with data integration tools and technologies
- Hands-on experience with data manipulation and query optimization
- Experience creating system design documents and other documentation related to data architecture, data modeling, and data warehousing
