Experienced data management specialist to facilitate the processing of large amounts of data in various forms.
The candidates for this position should be able to perform the following duties:- Design, development, implementation, and management of automatic data processing infrastructure for large databases;
- Design, build, and maintain their customized databases, within a mature integrating system;
- Develop and improve the infrastructure supporting these systems;
- Formal Education (minimum: bchelor's in life sciences, physical sciences, mathematics, engineering, or computer science);
- Strong knowledge of Perl, including the use of standard Perl modules and object-oriented Perl;
- Experience with Linux/UNIX and scripting in that OS;
- Experience with automatic data processing pipelines;
- Familiarity with high performance computing;
- Effective verbal and written communication skills;
Skills:
- Experience with SQL;
- Knowledge of genetics, especially human genetics;
- Experience with grid computing (LSF,Sun Grid, etc.);
- Experience with C/C++;
- Experience with XML/XSLT and related web based tools;
