Enterprise Architect

Responsibilities:

Strategic:

• Serve as a functional and enterprise-level subject matter expert, providing expert consultative support that bridges the customer's business and technical communities.
• Understand the technical environment well enough to engage credibly with subject matter experts (SMEs), without requiring deep hands-on technical expertise personally.
• Support Senior Technical Advisors (STAs) in creating architecture models and strategic roadmaps for the enterprise.
• Develop and maintain documentation that captures institutional knowledge currently residing only with individual staff, translating undocumented processes and decisions into formal, reusable artifacts.
• Build and maintain a working understanding of the customer's overall organizational structure, including the roles, responsibilities, and equities of each group.
• Develop and maintain the enterprise Roadmap, aligning near and long-term initiatives across the organization.
• Oversee the development of architecture assessments for senior leaders, including support to the Acquisition Center of Excellence's IT procurement lifecycle.
• Maintain and communicate enterprise standards and changes.
• Develop and maintain the enterprise's IT Capability Inventory and License Register.
• Analyze enterprise information to identify and document dependencies across systems, processes, and organizational groups.
• Interpret and apply existing enterprise models and architectural assessments to inform recommendations and planning.
• Maintain a working understanding of the business side of the customer's environment, including how budgeting and acquisition processes function, sufficient to coordinate effectively with those functions (direct budgeting/acquisition execution is not part of this role).

Tactical:

• Facilitate discussions with product owners and process owners across the enterprise, identifying gaps in communication and information sharing and helping bridge them so relevant groups can exchange information as needed.
• Support intra- and cross-Division/Project governance needs.
• Facilitate quarterly Technical Exchange Meetings with Senior Technical Advisors, Program/Project Managers, and Mission Partners.
• Understand and effectively use Service Central to support enterprise planning and coordination activities.
• Actively contribute in recurring forums such as Program Management Reviews (PMRs), Technical Exchange Meetings, and similar enterprise governance sessions.
• Support the enterprise's IT governance model, advancing initiatives from strategic alignment (plans, investments, innovations) through integration (technical exchanges, investment discussions, program reviews) and cross-functional planning (feedback loops, enhanced collaboration, opportunities for innovation) to optimized resource allocation, prioritization of joint initiatives to reduce redundancy, and capacity planning.
• Offer expertise in the form of knowledge, specialty skills, experience, or creativity in support of the CIO's enterprise architecture and IT strategy objectives.
• Provide guidance on enterprise architecture matters as they relate to the customer's strategic objectives and goals.

• Master's degree and 12 years of relevant experience (or equivalent substitution per the contract's Education Substitution Table).
• Does not need to be a deeply technical practitioner, but must understand technology concepts well enough to communicate credibly with technical SMEs and translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Basic understanding of technology and architecture modeling concepts and tools.
