Senior Test Engineer

GCyber is seeking a Senior Test Engineer, to help support a mission-focused federal IT modernization effort that is building and integrating secure digital capabilities in a classified environment. The program uses an Agile delivery model and a technology environment centered on Service Now, Elastic, AWS, Red Hat, and supporting integration technologies such as Kafka. The Senior Test Engineer will verify and validate secure digital capabilities across Service Now and connected systems while advancing automation and built-in quality in an Agile delivery environment.

As the Senior Test Engineer, you will

• Analyze requirements, designs, interfaces, and user stories to ensure capabilities are complete and testable.
• Define test strategies, plans, procedures, test data, acceptance criteria, and expected results for Service Now and integrated system capabilities.
• Develop automated tests using Service Now Automated Test Framework and other approved test tools.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, configuration, end-to-end, operational, and user acceptance test activities.
• Document results, defects, anomalies, risks, and configuration changes in Jira and maintain the validation portion of requirements traceability.
• Support sprint planning, reviews, demonstrations, release readiness, customer acceptance, and post-deployment validation.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, configuration management, Dev Sec Ops , cybersecurity, and customer stakeholders to resolve defects and improve built-in quality.
• Lead testing for assigned capabilities or releases and coordinate test execution across dependent components.
• Review test cases and evidence, mentor less-experienced testers, and recommend improvements to automation and regression coverage.

• Active TS/SCI security clearance
• Ability to obtain and maintain any additional customer suitability approvals required for the position.
• DoD 8570/8140 IAT II certification (i.e., Security+, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GISCP, GSEC, SSC)
• Early-stage flexibility with partial telework during initial development phases
• Full-time on-site presence at secure facility in Washington, DC will be required as the program matures.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical, operational, security, and customer teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
• Eight to twelve years of relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience leading test design and execution for complex software, cloud, integration, or mission systems.
• Experience with test automation, test data management, Dev Ops or CI tools, source control, and Agile software delivery.
• Ability to analyze application behavior, interfaces, logs, configurations, and code sufficiently to isolate technical defects.

• Hands-on Service Now administration, configuration, or development experience and familiarity with ATF.
• Experience with Service Now Discovery, Event Management, Service Mapping, custom applications, scripting, or workflows.
• Experience with AWS, Elastic, Kafka, Jira, Confluence, ITIL, SAFe, performance testing, security testing, or test-management tools.
• Relevant testing certification such as ISTQB or Service Now certification.
