This is a 12-month contract position based in Washington, District of Columbia. You will provide technical support and business analysis for Murex platform operations, with responsibility for diagnosing and resolving system issues, managing environments, and supporting release and configuration processes.
Responsibilities- Provide Level 2 and Level 3 application support for Murex platform issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve end-of-day (EOD) batch job failures, disk space issues, and memory management problems
- Diagnose and debug issues related to Murex services and datamart reports
- Manage release and environment configuration activities, including binary upgrades, backups, and restores
- Support environment creation and maintenance
- Participate in incident and problem management processes
- Document and track issues using ticketing and project management tools
- Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with current technologies
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Murex platform support
- Strong knowledge of Murex platform and Mx Architecture
- Excellent hands‑on experience with Unix/Linux operating systems
- Strong SQL knowledge and understanding of relational database systems such as Oracle
- Hands‑on experience creating Unix shell scripts, Python, and Perl scripts
- Experience with job scheduling tools and Unix/Linux troubleshooting utilities
- Excellent analytical and debugging skills
- Familiarity with SVN and JIRA tools
- Good understanding of incident and problem management processes
- Good understanding of release and environment configuration management processes
- Preferred
- Prior hands‑on experience in Murex environment support
- Knowledge of trade lifecycle, fixed income products, and derivatives
