Who You AreWe are seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator with extensive experience managing, optimizing, and securing mission-critical SQL Server environments. Proven expertise in advanced T-SQL development, performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery. Great communication skills working independently and collaborating with development and infrastructure teams. Proven experience finding database and system issues before they happen. A strong independent thinker who will bring their expertise in database administration.
WhatYou'll Do
- Design, implement, and administer Microsoft SQL Server environments (on-premises and/or cloud)
- Experience with On Prem SQL, Azure SQL and Managed Instance.
- Strong experience work with large Terabyte databases.
- Develop, optimize, and maintain complex T-SQL code including stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, and indexes
- Perform advanced query tuning and execution plan analysis to improve performance
- Monitor database health, capacity, and performance using native and third‑party tools
- Implement and manage High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) solutions (Always On)
- Expert level setup and administration of SQL clusters and always on Availability Groups.
- Manage and implement Change Data Capture
- Manage backup, restore, and recovery strategies; perform regular DR testing
- Ensure database security through role-based access, encryption, auditing, and compliance controls
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, root‑cause analysis, and performance bottlenecks
- Automate administrative tasks using T‑SQL, SQL Agent jobs, and Power Shell
- Collaborate with developers to enforce database design and coding best practices
- Support application releases, schema changes, and data migrations with minimal downtime
- Experience working with sensitive data and removing data from lower environments.
- Strong experience working with Auditing solutions – SQL Audit, Extended Events or custom monitoring accounts and user access.
