What does the Consulting Architecture Team do?
You'll serve as a trusted advisor to customers navigating complex cloud strategies, working directly with executive and C-level stakeholders to align adoption with business outcomes. From initial advisory engagements through delivery, you’ll bridge the gap between technology capabilities and organizational goals—translating cloud possibilities into actionable roadmaps, investment cases, and transformation strategies.
As an AVD Architect, you will:
- Lead collaboration with senior and C-level stakeholders to define Azure, AVD, and EUC strategies aligned to business and technology objectives.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-effective AVD and Azure architectures.
- Lead discovery and architecture sessions to understand business drivers, user requirements, application dependencies, and technical constraints.
- Define enterprise AVD architecture, standards, reference designs, and technology roadmaps across infrastructure, networking, identity, security, applications, and operations.
- Develop TCO models, capacity assessments, optimization strategies, and technology recommendations to support AVD and Azure investment decisions.
- Provide technical leadership across the architecture lifecycle, from strategy and solution design through implementation and ongoing optimization.
- Partner with Sales, Engineering, Delivery, and Cloud Operations teams to shape solutions, establish technical direction, and ensure alignment across stakeholders.
- Develop executive-ready architecture recommendations, roadmaps, solution designs, and technical documentation.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor and mentor to architects and engineering teams, helping establish best practices and continuously improve Rapid Scale’s AVD and Azure capabilities.
Who You Are
You are a senior cloud architect who enjoys solving complex enterprise infrastructure and end-user computing challenges. You are comfortable operating at both the architecture and hands-on engineering levels and can lead customers from strategy and design through implementation and operational optimization.
You have deep experience with Azure Virtual Desktop and understand that successful AVD implementations require much more than deploying session hosts—you understand the interdependencies between identity, networking, compute, storage, profiles, applications, security, endpoint management, automation, and user experience

Minimum Experience
- A BA/BS degree with 8 years of relevant overall experience, or an MS degree with 6 years of relevant overall experience, or a Ph.D. with 3 years of experience, or 12 years of relevant overall experience without a college degree.
- 4+ years of hands-on Azure architecture experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) / Windows Virtual Desktop experience in enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale AVD environments
. - Experience migrating users and applications from one or more traditional EUC/VDI platforms to AVD, including technologies such as Citrix, VMware Horizon, RDS, or traditional desktop environments.
