Do you loathe weekends? Do you literally have nothing to do every Saturday and Sunday and are absolutely dying to work weekends? Then this might be the gig for you!!! :)
Okay, seriously, we’re looking for a Freelance Weekend Coordinator to help manage phones, emails, and central dispatch for our fast‑paced, news‑driven operation. Admittedly, the weekends are slower that weekdays. But this person will ensure that all calls/emails get answered on Saturdays and Sundays and in a timely responsive manner. It doesn’t mean you have to be sitting in front of your computer all day, but it does mean you can’t just put your phone away for 3 hours.
This is an Independent Contractor role (1099) offering a flat daily rate, and is entirely remote. The person will also be offered the chance to backfill weekday shifts during holiday coverage needs.
Qualifications- Has TV newsroom or TV control room experience (preferably with a national news outlet like CNN, Fox, MSNBC, etc)
- Communicates clearly and confidently
- Can juggle multiple tasks without dropping the ball
- Stays cool under pressure — think Qantas Business Lounge calm
The Weekend Coordinator will also remotely operate any home studios liveshots that may occur during the Weekend shift. Training will be provided, but a comfort with technical production is encouraged. And these liveshots – there might be none or a few – will require the Weekend Coordinator to be in front of a computer or laptop.
