Happy New Year! This large, elite litigation boutique is looking for a “right-hand” person to assist with a busy IP litigation docket. They’ll consider a variety of technical backgrounds, but comfort/familiarity with software is valuable. 3+ years of experience in patent litigation is required. USPTO bar eligible or qualified.
You’d have the opportunity to work on both plaintiffs’ and defense matters. Attorneys--including Big Law refugees--join this group because they want hands on experience on cases that are going to trial.
- The firm requests 2,000 hours (including non-billables such as business development and pro bono) and pays previous market ($215k for 1st years; $370k for 6th years).
- The attorney running the cases likes communication and wants someone who understands what needs to be done (does it) and exercises good judgment.
- 4 days/week in office (everyone remote on Wednesdays).
- They do a lot of work with small companies and solo inventors (but not patent trolls—they were very clear about this).
They’d love someone who has seen the lifecycle of a case (at least up to trial). You’ll hit the ground running and be involved in all aspects, from client pitches to claim charts to hearings to trial. I liked the attorney you’d be working most closely with, and think he’d be a good boss.
