Leidos is looking for a Law Clerk to join our Washington, DC team.
Primary Responsibilities- Works under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal or Project Supervisor.
- Performs simple to moderately complex legal research for the trial staff.
- Assists in preparing draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, memoranda of law, reviewing documents for relevance and privilege, and assisting attorneys with all phases of litigation.
- Performs Blue booking and cite checking of briefs.
- Conducts research in applicable statutory, regulatory, and case law.
- Discerns the relevant issues in complex fact patterns.
- Law degree, or currently attending an ABA‑accredited law school with at least one year of study, or six years of legal training or experience may be substituted.
- Sound working knowledge of federal and state court systems, legal research procedures, and legal research resources.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of legal research tools such as LEXIS and Westlaw.
- Hands‑on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, and imaging.
- Hands‑on familiarity with ESI tools and knowledge of eDiscovery procedures and resources.
- Consistently delivers high‑quality work under extreme pressure.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
- Experience with Blue booking, cite checking, and creating tables of contents and authorities.
- Experience with e‑discovery tools including Relativity.
- Proficiency with the Microsoft suite, including Excel and Word, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Strong analytical, organizational, legal research and writing skills.
- Experience evaluating financial and debt records.
- Trial support experience helpful.
Pay for this position will be $38.77/hr.
This position is covered under the Service Contract Act and is subject to minimum requirements. Leidos ensures that all provisions are satisfied.
