Regulatory Compliance Specialist
About the Role
The East Regulatory team is responsible for ensuring compliance with state and local laws and regulations for the mobility and delivery businesses. We interpret existing obligations and advise the business teams on compliance strategies, as well as assist the business and policy teams with the interpretation of pending legislation and regulations to aid in shaping Uber's strategy. We also prepare permit applications, public comments, responses to information requests, and other documents for filing with our various regulators.
WhatYou'll Do:
Support the attorneys on the East Regulatory Team (based in NY, DC, Chicago)
Assist with research on license/permit requirements and ensure that our applications/renewals contain all required information and documents
Manage high volumes of regulatory inquiries and prepare responses, including reports, audits, data requests, and others
Coordinate filings with regulators
Help to keep the team organized, informed, and always moving forward
4+ years of paralegal experience at a large firm or in-house legal department, or program/project management experience
Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
Comfort and familiarity with technical tools, including AI
Experience researching and interpreting statutes and regulations
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience working cross-functionally with business people, Policy teams, and attorneys
An eye for the details
Ownership of assignments and a proactive mindset - always thinking a step or 4 ahead
For Chicago, IL-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $91,000 per year - USD $101,000 per year. For New York, NY-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $101,000 per year - USD $112,000 per year. For Washington, DC-based roles:
The base salary range for this role is USD $101,000 per year - USD $112,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
