This position is a full-time hybrid role that requires living within 50 miles of the CLC office in Washington, DC, to complete in-person tasks, access to the office, local courthouses, and errands, when necessary. This position is a mid-level paralegal position. Please review the posted salary range before applying. Key Responsibilities Prepare documents for court filing, including by:
Citation-checking
Proof-reading
Formatting documents to ensure compliance with applicable court rules
Creating tables of contents and tables of authorities
Creating and attaching exhibits and appendices
Preparing final electronic and paper filings pursuant to applicable court rules
File court documents in accordance with local rules in federal and state court
Liaise with court clerks? offices Assist with deposition, pre-trial, and trial preparation, including preparing exhibits and attachments, assisting with travel arrangements and other logistics, coordinating with courtroom staff and court reporters, and providing on-the-ground support for in-person trials
Assist attorneys with obtaining and maintaining bar and court membership Assist with discovery work, including document review and maintaining e-discovery databases
Create and maintain electronic case files
Provide legal assistance to non-litigation attorneys as required, such as reviewing draft legislative language and citation-checking and proof-reading policy documents, including those filed with government agencies
Project management Other duties as assigned
Qualifications Minimum of three years of experience with Bluebook citation checking and in-person trial support as a paralegal or in a comparable support position at a law firm, advocacy organization, government agency, or other entity engaged in federal litigation
Must be available for occasional overnight travel for in-person trials and hearings; company pays for all business travel expenses and typically a minimum of 4 weeks? advance notice is given. Paralegal required travel occurs approximately 2-4 times per year Exceptional attention to detail Ability to organize and maintain file systems
Proficiency with MS Word and Adobe Acrobat required. This includes formatting features such as applying styles, creating tables of content and authorities, exhibit stickers, and Bates stamping
Familiarity with Everlaw or other e-discovery software preferred (i.e., Relativity, Logikcull, etc.)Demonstrated interest in public-interest legal work preferred

Recruitment Process
- Round 1 - Forty-five (45) minute Zoom interview (please do not contact anyone at CLC regarding application status or requesting to meet about your candidacy. The hiring team will reach out if you are selected for an interview).Round 2 - Top candidate will be asked to take 2 - 3 skills-based assessments which, combined, will take no more than 60 minutes to complete.

Salary Range: $64,787 - $87,654
