Caplin & Drysdale is seeking a Senior Associate or Of Counsel attorney to work in our Political Law practice group in our Washington, D.C. office. The practice advises major corporations, trade associations, advocacy groups, nonprofits and candidates on campaign finance, pay‑to‑play, ethics, lobbying rules, and the Foreign Agents Registration Act, as well as similar state‑level laws. This position may also involve working with the Firm’s Exempt Organizations practice group to advise nonprofit organizations on political law matters.

• Advise clients on the complex web of federal, state, and local campaign finance, pay‑to‑play, ethics, and lobbying rules.
• Provide counsel on the Foreign Agents Registration Act and related statutes.
• Represent nonprofit organizations in political law matters through the Exempt Organizations practice group.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver high‑quality legal services under deadline pressure.

• Minimum of 5+ years of relevant political law experience, preferably in a law firm or in‑house counsel capacity.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Attention to detail, sound judgment, and a proven ability to work as a team player under deadline pressure.
