A well-regarded litigation firm is looking for an IP Litigation Associate, someone who wants to own their cases, not just staff them. If you've spent years at a large firm doing strong work but watching trials happen above your pay grade, this is the move that changes that.
The workThe practice handles both plaintiffs' and defense matters, with a client base that skews toward small companies and solo inventors. They represent legitimate patent holders, not NPEs. You'll be involved across the full lifecycle: client pitches, claim charts, depositions, hearings, and trial. The team litigates across all major venues, including the NDCA, EDTX, Delaware, ITC, and PTAB.
Software and technical familiarity is valued; a variety of technical backgrounds will be considered.
What they're looking for- 3+ years of patent litigation experience
- USPTO bar eligible or admitted
- Someone who reads a situation, knows what needs to happen, and does it without being managed (preferably with experience in all aspects of IP Litigation up to trial)
- A communicator — the lead attorney is accessible and expects the same in return
- Compensation: $215k (1st year) to $370k (6th year)
- Hours:
2,000 total (billable and non-billable, including BD and pro bono) - Schedule:
4 days in office;
Wednesdays remote firm-wide
